A circular route to the U Lidušky lookout tower from Bílovice nad Svitavou, near Brno: 5 km

  • The U Lidušky lookout tower was constructed in 2021 within the Hády nature reserve, which is close Brno and and just on the edge of the Moravský kras Protected Landscape Area. It is 29m tall with over 130 steps and offers excellent views over Brno and the forests of Moravský kras.
  • The easiest route to the tower is to take the train to Bílovice nad Svitavou (or park in the P&R car park by the station) and take one of two paths up the hill. The route shown below starts by following the Svitava river heading south from the station towards Brno (there is a choice of taking the footpath in the forest or the bike track on the opposite side of the river).
  • The suggested route climbs on a footpath to the tower from southwest direction and descends via a forest road on the northeast side. The total route is just over 5 km with 130m of ascent/descent on easy paths. For refreshments, try the Výletní restaurace Sokolovna (map point 5) 400m to the north of the station.
