A visit to the beautifully restored South Moravian chateau in Letovice: 4 km

  • The historic town of Letovice, situated 40 km to the north of Brno, stands at a crossroads of prehistoric trails leading from Bohemia into Moravia and the fertile Malá Hana region. Numerous archaeological finds from the Neolithic period onwards indicate the settlement here was on an important trade route.
  • Today, the beautifully restored Baroque-Empire style chateau overlooks the modern settlement of Letovice and the Svitava river from a rocky crag. A visit to the attractive English-style park and the area around the chateau is highly recommended. There is nice café in the chateau premises also worth visiting.
