A short walk to the Slunečná lookout in the vineyards of Velké Pavlovice: 3 km
- The town of Velké Pavlovice is in the heart of the South Moravian wine growing area and is a good base if touring the wine area, due to the range of accommodation (including the striking Opilý Sklepy apartments – see picture below) and ease of access from the D2 highway.
- The vineyards surrounding the town are also worth exploring on a short stroll, including a visit to the Slunečná lookout tower, which prides a panoramic view of the apricot orchards and vineyards that the area is famous for. Although longer routes are possible, the suggested circular route starting from the regional train station is 3 km long, on asphalt roads with just 60m of height to ascend/descend on the route. It is easily managed with a stroller.
- There is a snack bar offering refreshments just below the modern tower. However, for something more substantial try the excellent Restaurace André (connected to an upmarket pension/hotel and award-winning winery) which is on the route down from the lookout, in the middle of the vines.
