A short walk up to the Satinský waterfalls from Malenovice, above Frýdlant nad Ostravicí : 3 km
- The Satinský falls are a series of small but picturesque Beskydy waterfalls, situated on the Satina stream. The stream flows down from the highest Beskydy peak, Lysá hora, to join the river Ostravice near Frýdlant. A visit to the falls can be combined with longer trips in the mountains, including the climb of Lysá hora. The falls are also on one of the marked nature trails in the area – the yellow Medvědi stezka (marked with ‘bears’ paws).
- The closest access point to the falls is the village of Malenovice, located in the low hills above Frýdlant nad Ostravicí. One of the trails leading from Malenovice eventually to the summit of Lysá hora passes above the Satinský waterfalls. However, accessing the falls themselves requires a little bit of scrambling down a steep slope. An alternative route leaves the main path below the falls and then follows close to the river to reach the main falls. This is the route shown below, which avoids having to descend the steep path above the falls.
- The suggested starting point for this short walk is the Malenovice car park, which is on a bus route from Frýdlant train station. Next to the car park is the well-regarded restaurant, Rajská bouda, which is worth a stop. The short route up to the falls and back down again is just 2.6 km and involves 80m of ascent-descent. The riverside footpath involves crossing the stream a couple of times using steppingstones and is moderately challenging.

Directions
- From the Malenovice car park, join the YELLOW trail in the direction of Satina
- After 600m there is a tourist shelter on the left side. 80m after the shelter, there is an unmarked footpath heading down to the stream on the left. Take this path
- The footpath crossing the stream a couple of times before reaching the main falls after 500m
- Return back to the YELLOW trail by taking the steep footpath directlz asbove the falls
- Return back to the carpark by following the YELLOW trail downhill for 1.4 km
