An easy nature trail in the Kokořínsko countryside starting in historic Dubá: 7 km to 10 km
Try out the attractive easy nature trail created in the wetland countryside near the historic town of Dobá in the sandstone landscape of the Kokořnsko region.

Zahrádky village, on the northern edge of Kokořínsko, is a good starting point for a number of fine walks. This one explores the scenic Holanský fishpond network created in the Renaissance.
Easy walks around the Kokořínsko village of Zahrádky with its old tree alleys: up to 10 km
Zahrádky is well known stopping point on long distance hiking routes, but it also has some nice flat local trails, lined with impressive tree avenues and a number of historical monuments.
*The Podhradská cesta, a fine short walk near Kokořín castle: 5 km (extendable)*
This is probably the best short walk amongst the remarkable Kokořínsko sandstone rock formations which can easily be combined with a visit to the famous Kokořín castle.

This is a really varied walk starting at Jestřebí near Máchovo jezero, including sandstone rock sections, old farmhouses, a chateau, a castle, a swimming spot and a range of super places to eat!
A scramble amongst the sandstone rocks near Jestřebí to reach Pruský kámen viewpoint: 6 km
Whenever visiting the Máchovo jezero area, take a trip to Jestřebí to see the rock castle, stop in one its restaurants and maybe scramble up to the nearby Pruský kámen for a fine view.

An easy walk around the historic town of Úštěk and the Chmelař swimming lake: 4 km
The north Bohemian town of Úštěk has some interesting late Gothic architecture, a nice swimming lake and is the gateway for some very nice walking routes. It is well worth discovering!

Rock reliefs and rolling countryside on the edge of Kokořínsko: 3 km to 14 km
The countryside north of Štětí has some smaller sandstone rock formations worth visiting. The paths are quieter (but require more navigation skills) than in the nearby Kokořínsko nature area.
Břehyňský pond and Králův stolec, a short walk from the famous U Leknínu ice cream stall: 4 km
No trip to the Máchovo lake area is complete without a visit to the U Leknínu ice cream stall. Take an easy stroll to the nearby Břehyňský pond and Králův stolec rocks, to earn the right to a tasting!
Walks around the sandstone rock formations of the Hradčanské stěny: 4 km to 12 km
Hradčanské stěny is one of the most interesting yet least known sandstone rock areas in Kokořinsko, with intriguing holes, arches and caves to explore, plus a stunning view from the top of a steep knoll.
A walk around historic Doksy, before heading to the beach: 4 km
If travelling to or through Doksy, situated on the scenic Máchovo lake, take a moment to walk through town to visit the impressive Renaissance chateau and also the K.H. Mácha museum.
Trips from Máchovo jezero to Jestřebí castle: 10 km to 15 km
The rock castle at Jestřebí, 5km northwest of Máchovo jezero, is well worth a visit, as are the local restaurants. Work up an appetite with a circular tour through the nearby sandstone gorges.

Kokořínsko is most famous for its sandstone rock formations, but there are also interesting chateaux, viewpoints and old villages to visit in the region. This interesting walk captures several of these sites!
The Kokořínsko viewpoints of Velká and Malá Buková: 14 km
The Buková hills, in eastern Kokořínsko, offer some of the best views of the Máchovo lake, Bezděz castle and the surrounding forests. Unusually, these viewpoints are accessible all year round.

An easy 3 km walk around Staré Splavy – the Bohemian Rivieria?
These white sand beaches could be mistaken for a Mediterranean resort. In summer the water is warm and tempting. Take a short walk around this Bohemian resort for some excellent lakeshore views.
Walks to the hilltop castle of Bezděz, a 13th century masterpiece – 3 km to 14 km routes
Bezděz castle is the best preserved 13th century castle in Bohemia. The views from the castle walls are even more enjoyable if taking the route through the Kokořinsko forest from a regional train station.
