Prachovské skály viewpoints on flat and easy trails – a 5 km tour

  • The Prachov rocks (Prachovské skály) area is not ideal terrain for baby strollers or prams, mainly because of the many steep and narrow up and down step sections. However, the route described below allows access to four of the best viewpoints at the top of the rocks on relatively easy trails (only the last few metres approaching each viewpoint are a bit uneven).
  • The walk starts at a car park located on the edge of rock zone near the Prachov village, which is also on a bus route from Jičín. The car park (and trail) can be extremely busy at weekends during peak season (April to October) and during school holidays.
  • For a short 1km stroll below the rock formations with a baby stroller, then follow the directions on the yellow trail walk. This walks starts from the main car park in the centre of the rock area (and not the car park used for this longer walk).
  • Access to the trails for part of this walk requires payment at the ticket office. If the four viewpoints are visited, the total walk will be 4.5 km, with 120m of height gained/lost.Refreshments should be available at the restaurants located near the car park.

“Each viewpoint in the Prachovské skály gives a different perspective of the most famous rocks in the Czech Republic. At least four of the best viewpoints can be accessed using this route, without having to navigate the steep step sections”
