An 8 km circular route around Nad Maráskem (805m) in the Brdy highlands starting at Míšov
- There are ten named peaks that exceed 800m in altitude in the wild Brdy highland area. It has recently become quite a popular challenge to ‘capture’ (or ‘bag’) all of the peaks in a single walking season. Most of the summits are covered in spruce trees and sadly offer limited views.
- However, a couple of the peaks do have rocky summits that offer fine view over the surrounding forests. Praha at 862m is the second highest peak is a good choice for its two viewpoints. Tremšín (827m) also has an interesting summit, but is quite a trek from the nearest access point. A less well known, but still interesting peak with a nice rocky summit is Nad Maráskem (and some sort of view – when it is not foggy!). At 805m, it is the lowest of the ten.
- Nad Maráskem can be reached quite quickly from the village of Míšov, conveniently situated in the middle of the highland area. The main (Red) trail leads easily to the summit in 4 km. However, a nice circular route of 8.5 km can be created by starting on the alternative linking (Green/Yellow) trails and returning to Míšov on the Red. The link trails are slightly steeper than the main trail, but not difficult. Finding the paths in snowy/foggy conditions is a bit of a challenge though.
- In Míšov (beside the main road) is an atmospheric grill snack bar/restaurant popular with cyclists and hikers. The walls are lined with pictures of famous visitors…On a side street in the village, 600m walk from the snack bar, is a nice coffee, cake and ice cream which is open seasonally (marked as the finish point on the map below).

- At Křtí, turn left onto the YELLOW trail and follow this for 2.5 km to reach the summit of Nad Maráskem
- From the summit descend on the opposite side of the hill for 50m to reach the Nad Maráskem junction and here turn left onto the RED trail and follow this for 4 km back to Míšov village
