A short visit to the Silesian village of Hnojník with its fine Empire chateau: 2 km

• Hnojník is an historic village in the Frýdek-Místek district of Moravian Silesia, notable for its fine Empire style chateau built by the Beess noble family at the end of the 18th century. The chateau was in a state of disrepair until its recent refurbishment by a school group. As of 2024 the park area and parts of the chateau are open to the public and there is a nice new café just inside the entrance. If travelling in the area it is worth stopping for a quick visit to the chateau and park area. There information boards inside the chateau which showcase its history.

Directions

• The marked hiking trail from Hnojník station heads southwards into the Beskydy hills. There is no marked trail to the chateau, but the route can easily be followed on mapy.com
