An easy walk around the historic town of Havlíčkův Brod on the Sázava river: 2 km to 4 km
- Havlíčkův Brod is one of several historic towns in the Vysočina region. It is sometimes overlooked in favor of some better known towns, but its scenic town square, lined with Baroque and neo-Renaissance buildings is worth investigating on a short walk around town.
- The town was founded on the Sázava river in the 13th century and became important due to the local silver ore deposits. As a result, Havlíčkův Brod has some well preserved medieval fortifications, including rare corner bastions.
- The walk around town touring the 13th and 14th century fortifications areas (mostly on the eastern side of town), with a short section beside the river will take not more than an hour (the circuit is less than 2 km if starting from the main sqaure, 4 km if starting from the bus station) and can be accomplished with a stroller. There are several good refreshment options on the main square, but if in the mood for something spicy, try the well regarded ´Taste of India’ restaurant on the northern side of the square.
