An easy walk towards the Džbán hills from the royal brewery of Krušovice: 8 km
- The brewery of Krušovice was founded in the 16th century and for a period belonged to Emperor Rudolf II – hence its royal tag and logo. Krušovice is today owned by Heineken and tours may be booked to see around one of the country’s oldest and most famous breweries.
- There are a couple of good walks starting in Krušovice village which could be combined with a visit to the brewery. The first is a 10 km to 20 km hike into the nearby Křivoklátsko forest area. A shorter option is to take the trail to the top of the nearby Amálie hill (454m). The summit is topped by a gazebo built in 1823 by Prince Karl Egon II of Fürstenberg (one of the subsequent owners of the brewery) for his wife, Princess Amalia of Baden. A short nature trail also circles the hill.
- The main attraction of the walk, however, is strolling along the peaceful farm tracks with pleasant views towards the rolling Džbán hills. It is a 4 km easy walk to the top of Amálie hill, involving around 100m of climbing. If taking the circular nature trail, this adds an extra 100m or so of climbing. Note that the farm and woodland tracks on the hill can often be muddy.
- There are a couple of refreshment options in the village, in addition to the brewery. Try the pleasant bakery next to the school, which serves good cakes.
