An easy circuit in the low hills near Čeladná following the Zaječí stezka: 10 km

  • Čeladná has become one of the best known ‘resort’ towns in North Moravia. It lies in the foothills of the Beskydy mountains and is easily accessible by car and by train. Čeladná boasts a number of boutique and luxury hotels as well as some excellent dining options. It also has one of the largest golf complexes in the country.
  • Čeladná is an excellent base for hiking in the Beskydy range with options to walk in the highest peaks (including the prominent Smrk at 1236m) or in the lower foothills. The walk on this page circles around the lower hills following one of the town’s tourist friendly marked routes – the Zaječí stezka (rabbit’s trail). It starts and finishes in the town center, where there is a small square offering boutique shops and some good cafés (including the recommended Amici espresso bar).
  • The route is almost entirely on quiet country roads and can be managed with a stroller. There are good views towards higher peaks and Smrk in particular throughout the walk. The route climbs steadily for a little over 200m and then descends gently back to the town, with the final section along the Čeladenka river. The main route is around 10 km long, but it is worth considering an extension to visit the remarkable design hotel Miura (map point 6, see picture below).
  • In addition to the cafés in the square in Čeladná, there are gourmet dining options along the route including at Villa Cattaleya (map point 2) and at the Miura.
