A short stop in the Vysočina brewery town of Kamenice nad Lipou: 1 km
- Few towns can claim to be named after an 800 year old tree, but the small town of Kamenice nad Lipou, located on the road heading north from Jindřichův Hradec, has that privilege. The remarkable ancient linden tree stands (or rather is supported) in the small park area next to the fine Renaissance chateau that dominates the town square.
- The town itself has a pretty main square, but a major reason to stop for a quick walk around town (in addition to visiting the famous tree) is the refurbished Kamenice brewery which reopened in 2017. The brewery and restaurant is located in a remarkable building with an arched brick ceiling. It is worth a stop just to see the building. The beer and the food are pretty good too!
- A visit to Kamenice can potentially be included in in a longer walk in the pleasant highland areas between Jindřichův Hradec and Pelhřimov, but the route options have not yet been researched well enough to be put in the guide. Four interesting trails converge on the town. So, for the time being, the recommendation is simply to make a stop in Kamenice when travelling in the region and walk around the town center, park area and make a visit to the brewery!
