The 2 km yellow trail – the shortest tour in the Prachovské skály

  • This is the shortest walk in the guide, but if pressed for time it still gives a good taste of the grandeur of the Prachovské skály, with spectacular views from the bottom and top of the central part of the rock formations
  • The first 500m is navigable for baby strollers (and is still worthwhile), but thereafter there are steep step sections to navigate
  • The walk starts at the main Prachovské skály car park, and both this and the trail can be extremely busy at weekends during peak season (April to October) and during school holidays.
  • Total walk length is 2.0 km, with 100m of height gained/lost on the route
  • Access to the trails for this walk requires payment at the ticket office
  • Refreshments should be available at the restaurants located at the car park

Directions

  • Start and finish the walk at the (paid) Prachovské skály – Turistická chata car park. Note: this can get very full at peak times.
  • Enter the rock area through the ticket office (payment required during the season )
  • Most of this walk is on the YELLOW trail which starts immediately after the ticket office. Follow the broad trail (navigable for baby strollers) for 500m into the main rock amphitheatre
  • At the T2 signpost turn to the right on the YELLOW trail (direction U vyhl. Českého ráje) and climb the steps through the rock crevasse
  • At the top of the steps divert to the right for 70m to visit the Vyhlídka Českého ráje viewpoint, then return to the YELLOW path
  • Continue for 150m to the U buku signpost where the YELLOW path turns left. After 80m divert onto the green path to visit the viewpoint of Vyhlídka Míru. Return back to the YELLOW trail
  • Continue on the YELLOW trail for 160m to reach the Nad Císařskou chodbou signpost, where the YELLOW trail turns sharply to the left. Follow this trail for 700m down the steps and then back to the car park
