A 2 km walk around the Svatá Hora pilgrimage site above Příbram
- Svatá Hora (‘Holy Mountain’) is the most famous pilgrimage site associated with the Virgin Mary in Bohemia. The majestic Baroque complex was constructed in the 17th century on a hill above the historical silver mining town of Příbram, some 50 km southwest of Prague. The center of the complex is a Gothic church dating from the 14th century, but a hilltop chapel is believed to have existed at least from the 13th century. A museum is housed in the complex detailing the history of pilgrimages to Svatá Hora.
- There is a park area around the complex which is worth circling around on a short walk to enjoy the views over Příbram and the surrounding countryside as well the reconstructed monastery buildings. The site can mostly easily be approached from the large (paid) parking just below the hill or, more atmospherically, by taking the covered staircase leading up 365 steps directly from Příbram town center.
- Close to the monastery complex entrance are a series of souvenir shops and a coffee shop for refreshments.

Directions
- There is no particularly recommended way to walk around the site once actually at the monastery complex (either by taking the steps up from the close car park, or the 365 steps from Příbram center)
- However a tour of the inner courtyard area and the outer park area is highly recommended. The total circuit from car park, touring around the complex and then the park is little more than 2 km, with around 80m of height to climb-descend
