Looking for a full day’s walk in easy terrain, within easy reach of Prague? This circular walk starting in historic Brandýs is a good choice – lots of quiet forest sections and then stretches on both sides of the Labe river.
Easy walks along the Vltava river between Kralupy and Libčice: 8 km to 15 km
There are hiking trails on both sides of the river Vltava between between the towns of Kralupy and Libčice, just north of Prague. This creates the possibility of a nice flat circular route!

An unusually varied flat walk initially beside the famous Hořín canal which connects the Vltava and Labe rivers at Mělník. The return route follows the Vltava cycle path for its final few km.

The Blaník-Říp pilgrimage route, between these two legendary Bohemian hills, is one of the classic long-distance trails in the Czech Republic. It is a fine hike, usually completed over 6 to 7 days.

The final (and best) section of the classic long-distance trail, Blaník-Říp, starts in Mělnik old town. It is a scenic and varied route. Finish the walk in historic Roudnice and catch the fast train home.
Circular routes along the Labe river between Neratovice and Kostelec nad Labem: 17 km – 19 km
This nice flat circular walk between two attractive towns on the Labe, has an option to follow a riverside trail in both directions or take a cross country route through the farming villages for one leg.

Climbing Říp (461m) is more than a walk. It is sort of a national pilgrimage, albeit a short one if starting at the nearest car park. Take the scenic route from Roudnice and enjoy the views of the looming hill.
An easy 4 km + walk from Kralupy to Nelahozeves chateau along the Vltava
Take a short walk along the river Vltava to visit one of Bohemia’s most imposing Renaissance chateaux; Nelahozeves. The walk can also be extended to visit Veltrusy’s Baroque chateau and Dvořák’s birthplace.
Veltrusy chateau and its English park – 5 km to 10 km easy walks
Veltrusy is one of the most important and original Baroque chateaux in Bohemia. It has a large English-style park to explore, filled with 18th century monuments, ornate bridges and tree-lined alleys.
Exploring historic Mělník, a 6km tour along both banks of the river Labe
This short walk explores the royal town of Mělník, offering views of the old town and its ancient vineyards, before circling around the historic Hořín park, on the opposite side of the river Labe.
