*A varied walk beside the streams of Přírodní park Střed Čech, near Davle: 15 km – 19 km*

• Přírodní park Střed Čech (Central Bohemia Nature Park) is an ambitiously named protected nature area, essentially covering the forested areas close to the Sázava and Vltava rivers immediately to the south of Prague. The northern part of the nature area lies between two popular Central Bohemian towns, Jílové u Prahy and Dolní Břežany. Both appear frequently in this guide as good starting points for walks.
• The route shown in the map below is in this northern section and is unusual in that it follows at least three streams, mostly on shady footpaths or tracks. It is therefore an excellent walk for hot summer days.
• The section which heads gently downstream towards Davle along the Zahořanský stream from the village of Libeř has an extra element of excitement. The stream has to be crossed several times using stepping stones or logs. This is therefore not a route recommended after heavy rain or when conditions are icy. Apart from the stream crossings, this is an easy route on good footpaths, with just over 200m of height to ascend-descend.
• The route can be started at various points. For a 15 km loop, start at either Libeř or Okrouhlo villages, which are on the regional bus network. For a slightly longer (19 km) route, start and finish in Davle, preferably by catching the train from Prague. This longer route has the advantage that there are good refreshment options on the return to Davle, including a snack bar beside the Vltava (map point 7) and a station restaurant. Across the Vltava, in Davle village, there is also the excellent (Hejlík recommended) Greek restaurant, Taverna Thessaloniki, which is definitely worth trying.

Directions

• If starting from Davle train station, take the RED trail for 1 km in the direction of Libřice junction
• At the junction, foin the BLUE trail, which follows the stream for 1.4 km to reach the Na Dolech junction
• At Na Dolech, turn left onto the YELLOW trail and follow this path for 5.7 km through Okrouhlo village until meeting the 19A cycle path at map point 4
• Join the cycle path , which leads into Libeř village after 2.3 km
• In Libeř, join the BLUE trail which leads back to the Libřice junction after 7.6 km
• Rejoin the RED trail back to Davle station
