*An easy walk between Letohrad and Tvrz Orlice, at the edge of Orlické hory: 5 km*
- There are many chateaux and castles in Orlické hory (Eagle mountains), built to protect the East Bohemian/Polish border area. Some are more famous than others and worth making a special trip to see. The chateau at Letohrad is not one of the most spectacular in the region, but the attractive Renaissance-arcaded town is worth stopping in if passing by. There is a pleasant stroll around the small 19th century English-style park area. The chateau has been converted into a boutique hotel.
- For a longer, but still easy and flat walk, consider following the marked trail along a side road for 3 km to reach the Tvrz Orlice. Here there is a good restaurant with a terrace which is connected to a former medieval-Renaissance fortress. There is another boutique hotel on the extensive site.
- Letohrad is on a regional bus route (which connect with Tvrz Orlice for the trip back) and also has a train station, with direct trains from Prague. In addition, to the restaurant at Tvrz Orlice there is a good café on the outskirts of Letohrad, the Svět dortů (map point 4).
