Two easy 3 km walks in the Příhrazské rocks from Krásná vyhlídka

  • Two short walks in the Příhrazské rocks, each of just over 3km, starting at the attractive viewpoint of Krásná vyhlídka; one to the viewpoint and village of Mužský (with its folk architecture), the other to the rock castle of Drábské světničky visiting the classic Příhrazské viewpoints.
  • The paths are relatively easy, but can be quite muddy and slippery after heavy rain. The section up to the Mužský viewpoint is quite steep.
  • The walk along the road to Mužský village is fine with a baby stroller (but not the ascent to the viewpoint). The basic walk to Drábské světničky castle can be done with a baby stroller if the paths are dry.
  • There is an option to visit the important Bronze Age hillfort site of Hrada, where the southeast rampart wall is just visible.
  • Visit the excellent restaurant at Na Krásné vyhlídce (a Lukáš Hejlík recommendation) for refreshments before or after the walks.
  • For a longer version of these two walks see the double loop around Příhrazské rocks walk.
  • Note: the car park at Krásná vyhlídka is small and can be full at peak periods. See the directions section below for an alternative parking place.

“Na Krásné vyhlídce is my favourite restaurant directly in the rock areas to stop for a bite to eat. Both the view and the food are pretty tasty! These two short walks to the main attractions in the Příhrazské rocks would nicely set up an appetite…”

Note: click ‘Show on Mapy.com’  to go to a full screen version of the route directly on the mapy.com site. This can be used for on line navigation, saved or exported as a GPX file.

  • Start and finish at the small car park at Krásná vyhlídka, located at the end of the narrow road up from Bosen/Zásadka. Here there is an excellent restaurant Na Krásné vyhlídce for refreshments
  • Note: the car park is small and also serves the restaurant, so can be full at peak times. If this is the case, alternative parking is at Dneboh (located just below the Drábské světničky
  • The two walks can be done in either order, as both start and finish at Krásná vyhlídka
  • For the 3km Drábské světničky walk, take the BLUE trail from the car park, after 800m passing through the interesting rock cleft of Studený průchod
  • After a further 600m reach the castle ruins (usually only open from April to October). [Note: Walkers with baby strollers will need to take the path around the rock cleft]
  • 200m before reaching the castle ruins, there is an option to visit the important Bronze Age hillfort site of Hrada, by taking an unmarked trail for 50m towards the centre of the sandstone plateau. Little is visible of the ramparts today . Return back to the BLUE trail and continue on to
  • Return on the BLUE trail towards Krásná vyhlídka, but after 100m turn left to follow the RED trail on the cliff path where there are panoramic viewpoints [Note: walkers with baby strollers should return back on the BLUE trail]
  • Rejoin the BLUE trail and return to Krásná vyhlídka
  • For Mužský, take the GREEN trail from the car park, reaching the signpost of Pod Mužským after 700m.
  • At the signpost, take the marked trail for 250m up the hill to the viewpoint Mužský (463m) and then return to the signpost
  • Either return to Krásná vyhlídka back along the road (GREEN trail) or extend the walk by visiting the attractive village of Mužský (where there are fine examples of folk architecture).
  • To visit Mužský village, continue down the road for 700m, turning off right to the village at the Mužský – osada signpost.
  • Return along the same route back to Krásná vyhlídka
