A 27km hike in the eastern section of Hřebeny: from Řevnice to Černošice

  • This exciting walk in the eastern (lower) section of the Hřebeny nature park, follows a similar route to the second day of the full walk along the Hřebeny ridge. However, a start at the mainline train station of Řevnice is easier to access by public transport than the mid point of the two day walk – the village of Kytín.
  • The start in Řevnice also allows an additional visit to one of the best viewpoints in the area – the rocky summit of Babka, a short detour from the initial ascent path. After Babka, the route follows the main ridge line, passing through the historic monastery area of Skalka, above the town of Mníšek pod Brdy. There follows a long section in the very attractive Hřebeny mixed forests, with the option of a short detour to one of the best viewpoints in the hills: Hvíždinec. The route then passes the famous climbing rocks of Černolické skály before dropping down to the village of Jíloviště.
  • From Jíloviště the final short ascent is to the landmark TV tower of Cukrák on Kopanina hill, before the trail descends to reach the Berounka river at Kazín (the site of another ancient hillfort). The final section of the route follows the Berounka towards Černošice station.
  • The route is on good well marked trails, mostly forest paths. The ascent route from Řevnice is, however, quite steep and the paths can be muddy after wet weather. Over the total route of 27.4 km there is 600m of height gained (including the detour to Babka). There are several options for refreshments on the route including at stop for Skalka, Jíloviště and Kazín.
